TIMUR (TEYMURAZ) ZOLOYEV (November 20, 1931 – February 4, 2019)
Soviet, Ukrainian film director and screenwriter. Laureate of the award named after M. IN. Lomonosov Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1973). Honored Artist of Ukraine (2000). He was a member of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine
He was born in Ordzhonikidze in the family of a teacher. He graduated from the Pedagogical Institute in Ordzhonikidze (1954) and director’s faculty of VGIK (1965). He worked as a teacher in the Urals, then in the Geological Party and on Sverdlovsk Film Studio. Since 1965 he has been the director of the Kyiv Film Studio of Popular Science Films “Kyivnaukfilm”. Since 1971 – director of the Odessa film studio.
He has created documentaries and popular science films, which have received awards at domestic and international film festivals, including:
“Gymnast” (1966), First Prize at the All-Union Sports Film Festival in Moscow; And the International Award the short film festival in Oberhausen (Germany); And the prize of the Sports Press Association International Sports Film Festival in Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy).
“Swordsmen” (1967), Gold Medal and the Prize of “Komsomolskaya Pravda” at the II All-Union Film Festival of Sports Films, Honorary Diploma of the Jury of the International Sports Film Festival in Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy).

“Mykola Amosov” (1971), Lomonosov Prize, II century.


Director of feature and television films: “For your destiny” (1972), “Vacation that did not happen” (1976), “Where Have You Been, Odysseus?” (1978), “Two steps from Paradise” (1984), “Complaint” (1986), “Cute, you’re mine” (1991), The Bread of That Winter (2008).
Timur Zoloev was a gifted person. In his biography there was even an acting experience: he starred in films “Timur and his team” (1976), “Time for reflection” (1982), “When they become adults” (1985).
In 2005 Timur Zoloev’s book “Illusion” was published by the Vinnytsia publishing house “Globus-Press”. It is known the director sincerely, without special literary embellishments told about his half-century life in Ukrainian cinema. AND since, perhaps, Timur Oleksandrovych spent his best years at the Kyivnaukfilm studio, this book – a kind of monument to the film studio, which so suddenly rose in the cinematic sky in the 60s and extremely quickly took a prominent place in the cultural life of Ukraine.
In 1999-2006, Timur Zoloev was the director of the Contact film studio. He was the author of the films of the TV series “Selected sometimes “:” To whom will I tell my sorrow? ” (1999) about Volodymyr Vynnychenko, “Do you remember our meetings? ..” (2003) about the famous Kharkiv singer Klavdia Shulzhenko, “My friend, Lenka” (2004) about the director Leonid Aspen, “Sergei Bondarchuk. Batkivshchyna ”(2004),“ Kolomiychenko Brothers ”(2005) about doctors Mykhailo and Oleksiy Kolomiychenko.
